Sri Lakshmi Narayani - Thirumalaikodi, Vellore

General Introduction:

The Tamil month of Aadi is most suitable to worship Annai Mahasakthi. The majestic and arresting gargantuan temple built for Devi Lakshmi Narayani near Vellore is the temple of this week. The words Golden Temple will remind everyone of the Sikh's pride, the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The golden Lakshmi Narayani temple in Thirumalaikodi near Vellore is covered fully with gold. Established by Sri Sakthi Amma, it is a famous worship place for devotees. This golden temple stands magnificently on a 100-acre salubrious stretch amid natural surroundings, with meticulous artistic work. Consecration was done last year in a grand way and the temple was opened for devotees.

Architecture:

This splendid temple has been covered fully with gold. The golden temple glitters and gleams when the rays of the sun fall on it. The beauty of the temple is beyond description. We enter the star-shaped path first. We can walk through it enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. Boards bearing messages by Sri Sakthi Amma are laid out on both the sides of the pathway.

Statues of Gods installed in between attract our attention. We are able to feel the inexplicable joy that we experience during the Sakthi darshan. The temple is built in the middle of the star-shaped exterior. Water is filled in the moat between the path and the temple. The statues of elephants made of gold keep squirting water into the moat.

Temple history :

"Sakthi Amma" was interested in spirituality even from his early years. He used to attend pujas, bhajans and spiritual lectures wherever they were held. Even when he was a student, he was more interested in spirituality than in his studies. He was made to understand the aim of his avtar by the grace of Annai and people started calling him "Amma".

The glory of Thirumalaikodi :

Annai started showering Her benevolence in the hamlet Malaikodi in Ariyur near Vellore. Many centuries ago, siddhas, sages and devas did penance here, worshipping Annai, it is said. Granting their wish, Annai chose the place for Her avtar.

Sri Lakshmi Narayani

Annai is portrayed in a wonderful form here. Behind Her head, there's a circular plate of gold that adds to Her majesty. Stone-studded gold haarams, pearl necklaces and other precious jewelry adorn Her accentuating Her beautiful godly figure. When we see the benevolence in Her eyes, we feel like a child asking its mother to fulfill its wants. Tomato rice is given as prasadam. Annadhanam is also done under the scheme "Narayani Seva" by the management. Sri Lakshmi Narayani blesses Her devotees with all prosperity.

Annai Narayani swayambu thiru uruvam:

The temple has been constructed with an artistically incomparable vimanam with eight sides. A 63-ft. sanctum with artha mandap and maha mandap has been built and Sri Chakra has been installed after the chanting of the moola mantra for one crore times by 750 Sivacharyas. This exclusive temple for Annai, built by Sakthi Amma is the first of its kind in the world. The temple is called Sri Narayani Peedam and Old Narayani Thirukoil. It is also called Sripuram new golden temple. All our sins will be redeemed if we have darshan of Annai here and there'll be only happiness and love, it is believed.

Services of Sri Narayani Peedam

Apart from the regular spiritual services, social services are also being rendered by this temple. There is a guest house with a number of air-conditioned rooms for the devotees who come from far off places. The management is implementing many welfare schemes also. Sakthi Amma is holding daily annadhanam in Tamil Nadu under the scheme "Narayani Seva".

On Fridays, abhishekam is performed with 108 Valampuri conches. Sri Narayani yaaham is performed in a grand scale with herbs, sweets, savories, flowers and fruits of 108 varieties and 21 kinds of sacred things for the welfare of the people all over the world and for the welfare of the society by Amma. This kind of yaaham is not being done anywhere else in the world. The reason for a person's sufferings in life is the sins he had committed in his previous birth. For redemption from these sins, performing pujas, bhajans and service to God etc. are required. We can render as much service as possible through Sri Narayani bhakta sabha. Renovation of temples in Vellore, Thiruvannamalai and Kancheepuram districts and Kumbabhishekam are being done under the ,Jothi Swaroopini Scheme."Vidhya Netram" scheme offers assistance to those school students in Vellore and its neighboring districts who secure the first rank in the school final examination. Also, handicapped are offered assistance to develop their business. "Kalyani" offers assistance to those poor girls whose parents have no resources to celebrate the marriage of their daughters. Under the scheme, "Punarjenma", assistance is offered for education and marriage to those families, one of whose members is undergoing imprisonment for some offence committed due to circumstances. Water is being distributed in the areas surrounding schools, colleges and hospitals through tankers. The management is also running educational institutions and a very big hospital.
